Heavy rain and hurricane force wind gusts will continue through Thursday morning.
Unlike most hurricanes that Central Florida experiences, some of the strongest winds will come on the back end, northwest side of the center during the pre-dawn hours.

Milton made landfall as strong Category 3 storm
ORLANDO, Fla. – Hurricane Milton made landfall Wednesday night along Florida’s Gulf Coast as a major Category 3 storm, causing flooding and power outages across the state.
The hurricane lashed Central Florida with flooding rains and damaging winds.
As of 5 a.m. Thursday, Milton is a Category 1 hurricane with maximum sustained winds dropping to near 85 mph. Milton made landfall before 8:30 p.m. in Siesta Key, which is in Sarasota County on Florida’s Gulf Coast. The storm is now moving through Central Florida on a path to the Atlantic coast.
